The 37th Anniversary of the Chemical Attack on Halabja Commemorated

In the presence of Mr. Sheikh Fakhr Sheikh Tayeb, CEO of Qaywan Group of Companies, Mr. Hawzhin Hassan, Authorized Director of Maya Education Company, Rebwar Mullah Nabi, and a number of teachers, a commemoration was held in front of the Sheikh Fakhr Sheikh Tayeb Educational Center to mark the 37th anniversary of the chemical attack on Halabja. Attendees observed several minutes of silence in honor of the souls of the martyrs.

Once again, we pay tribute to all the victims of this historic tragedy.

The chemical attack on Halabja was carried out on March 16, 1988, by the Iraqi Ba’ath regime, which bombed the city with chemical gas, killing more than 5,000 innocent Kurdish citizens, including women, children, and youth, and injuring more than 10,000 people.
