A Message from the Dean

Welcome to Kurdistan Technical Institute.

It is a great honor for me to be one of the founders and the Dean of Kurdistan Technical Institute, an institution that is increasingly recognized as one of the leading higher education institutions in the Kurdistan Region. KTI was established in 2015 as one of the educational projects of Maya Company, part of Qaiwan Group, and is officially licensed by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research under Ministerial Decree No. 21923, dated 19 October 2015.

Internationally accredited, quality assured

When we founded KTI, we promised ourselves that our students would receive an education that meets international standards. Today I am proud to say that this promise has been recognized beyond our borders. KTI is now accredited by the International Education Accreditation Council (IEAC) in the United Kingdom, and our management system is certified to ISO 9001:2015. These achievements are not the end of the road for us; they are a commitment to keep improving the quality of everything we do, from teaching and research to student services and administration.

Learning by doing

Research and the needs of today\'s labor market tell us clearly that education must move from theory to practice. At KTI, students learn by doing, working with the latest techniques, technologies and professional methods from their first semester. English is the language of instruction in all of our programs, which span business and accounting, information technology, robotics and automation, digital media, interior design, and a wide range of health sciences including pharmacy, medical laboratory, nursing, anesthesia, aesthetic nursing and dental assisting. Our programs lead to technical diplomas and advanced professional qualifications.

A campus built for students

Our campus in Sulaimani Heights brings together two modern buildings, 36 smart classrooms, 39 fully equipped laboratories, two conference halls including the newly designed Sheikh Fakhir Hall, a central library and E-Library, and access to sports and green spaces. Students of our medical departments train at Anwar Sheikha Hospital, our official teaching hospital, as well as other leading hospitals in the city. KTI buses, a public bus line and a taxi station make the campus easy to reach from every part of Sulaimani.

Connected to the world

KTI maintains strong links with local and international universities, employers and professional organizations, and we use these relationships for the direct benefit of our students through training, partnerships and up-to-date teaching practice. We were also the first institution in the Kurdistan Region to manage all of its work through an integrated electronic system, where every lecturer and student handles their academic business through a personal portal.

A community that makes a difference

KTI is located in Sulaimani, the cultural capital of Kurdistan, a city whose long history of culture, thought and resilience shapes the character of our institute. We are a diverse and welcoming community: large enough to have regional and international reach, yet close enough for students to build lifelong friendships and relationships with their mentors.

The reputation KTI enjoys today is the result of many hands: talented and dedicated faculty, the energy and creativity of our students, the commitment of our staff, and the vision of our founders to make a real difference in the Kurdistan Region and beyond.
