A new scientific research entitled “Impact of Waste Water on Antibiotic Resistance Phenomenon” was conducted by teachers from Kurdistan Technical Institute (Mr. Halgurd Nazim Mohammed, M. Hardi Hassan Rasul, and M. Brwa Zahir Mohammed), in collaboration with Dr. Shara Mahdi Sulaiman, a member of the Kurdistan Pharmacists Union, and Ahmad Osman Abdullah, a graduate of the Kurdistan Technical Institute. The research was published in the scientific journal of Ziqar University of Medicine.
The study highlights that one of the reasons for the increase in antibiotic resistance is the contamination of wastewater from agriculture, food, and groundwater. The final part of the study focuses on hospital wastewater, which poses a greater health risk and contributes to increased antibiotic resistance. This type of wastewater contains a large number of harmful disease-causing organisms, along with dangerous and radioactive chemicals.
On behalf of the Deanship of Kurdistan Technical Institute, we congratulate all the researchers involved in this paper and hope they continue to produce more significant and impactful work.
